We're Here to Offer Our Help

If you don't find the answer you're looking for, we encourage you to reach out directly to our team. We believe that informed clients are essential, and we strive to ensure a thorough understanding of the care we offer.

General Dentistry

We recommend that you should see your Narraweena dentist for routine check-ups every six months to keep your teeth and gums in top shape. Regular visits allow your dentist to catch any potential issues early, such as tooth decay, enamel wear or gum disease, before they become bigger (and more expensive) problems.

During these visits, you’ll receive a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing alone can’t tackle. Your dentist will also check for signs of oral health concerns like tooth decay, gum inflammation, and even early signs of oral cancer.

However, depending on their dental health, some patients may need more frequent visits. If you have a history of gum disease, frequent cavities or wear braces, your dentist may recommend check-ups every three to four months to monitor your progress and provide extra care.

Ultimately, keeping up with regular check-ups helps maintain a healthy, pain-free smile and reduces the likelihood of needing extensive treatments down the road. If it’s been a while since your last visit, now’s the perfect time to book an appointment!

Cosmetic Dentistry

Maintaining your new smile starts with good oral hygiene—brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily and using an antibacterial mouthwash. Regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings help prevent staining and ensure your restorations stay in great condition.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening isn’t permanent, but you can extend the results by avoiding staining foods and drinks like coffee, tea and red wine. Using a straw for dark beverages and rinsing your mouth with water after meals can also help. Touch-up treatments, whether in-chair at our Narraweena dental practice or at home, can keep your smile bright for longer.

Veneers and Dental Bonding

Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, but the natural teeth around them can still discolour. Composite dental bonding is more porous and can stain over time, so it’s best to limit exposure to stain-causing foods and drinks. Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular professional cleanings will help keep your smile looking fresh.

Regular Dental Checks

Routine check-ups allow your dentist to monitor your teeth, gums, and any cosmetic work to ensure everything remains healthy and intact. Preventative care helps protect your investment and keeps your smile looking its best.

We Welcome Your Call

In addition to brushing and flossing, maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and avoiding smoking can keep teeth healthy and bright. If you grind your teeth at night, consider wearing a nightguard to protect cosmetic work from unnecessary wear.

Clear Aligners - Invisalign®

Proper care of your clear aligners keeps them clean, clear and effective throughout your treatment. Follow these simple steps for the best results:

1. Clean Daily

Rinse your clear aligners with cool water each time you remove them. Gently brush using cold water and a soft toothbrush.

2. Remove When Eating & Drinking

Always take your aligners out before eating or drinking anything other than water to prevent stains, odours and damage.

3. Brush & Floss Before Reinserting

To avoid trapping food and bacteria, brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in.

4. Store Properly

Keep your aligners in their protective case when not in use to prevent contamination and loss.

5. Avoid Hot Water & Harsh Cleaners

Never clean aligners with hot water, bleach or abrasive chemicals, as they can warp or damage them.

6. Wear as Directed

For the best results, wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day and switch them as scheduled.

TMJ & Bruxism Treatment

If you experience persistent jaw pain, frequent headaches or notice your teeth are wearing down, it’s time to seek professional care from our team at Narraweena Smiles. TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding) can lead to serious issues if left untreated, including tooth fractures, chronic jaw discomfort and even difficulty eating or speaking. Many people don’t realise they grind their teeth at night until symptoms like morning jaw soreness, tension headaches or increased tooth sensitivity appear.

Seeing a dentist in Narraweena early can prevent long-term damage and improve your overall comfort. At Narraweena Smiles, we assess your symptoms and offer custom treatments like nightguards, jaw exercises and botulinum neurotoxin injections to relieve tension and protect your teeth. If you hear clicking or popping sounds when opening your mouth, experience lockjaw or feel muscle stiffness, these could also be signs of TMJ dysfunction that need attention.

Ignoring these symptoms may lead to worsening pain, worn enamel and bite misalignment. Seeking treatment early ensures that you maintain a healthy, pain-free smile and avoid more extensive interventions in the future.

Emergency Dentistry

If you knock out a tooth, our Narraweena emergency dentist encourages you to act quickly. The sooner you receive treatment, the better the chances of saving it.

First, handle the tooth by the crown (the white part), not the root, to avoid damaging delicate tissue. We recommend that you rinse the tooth gently and avoid scrubbing or using tap water, as this can harm the cells needed for successful reattachment.

If possible, place the tooth back in the socket and gently bite down on a clean cloth to hold it in place. If you are unable to reinsert the tooth, store the tooth in a container of milk, saline or your own saliva to keep it moist. We strongly recommend that you never let the tooth dry out.

We urge you to seek emergency dental care in Narraweena immediately. Teeth have the highest chance of being successfully re-implanted within 30 to 60 minutes of being knocked out. Even if it has been longer, don’t delay—your dentist may still be able to save the tooth or provide alternative solutions.

If you’re experiencing bleeding, pain or swelling, apply a cold compress and take over-the-counter pain relief while heading to your dentist. Quick action can make all the difference in preserving your smile!
